Eco Yoga: Bliss in Nature

Last weekend we enjoyed a sumptuous feast of the senses. Body, mind, spirit. This unique concept of Eco Yoga was developed by Hillary Keegan in partnership with Scott Renyard over the last several years, and brought to fruition in this inaugural retreat. Their passion for Positive Thought, Physical Transformation, and Earth Renewal, is clear, actionable, and effective. Coco Finaldi and myself are deeply aligned with this vision, and joined in to co-lead this retreat weekend from Friday to Sunday.

KEY POINTS OF POWER

For my busy professionals, here were the key points of power, or pearls of wisdom, from the retreat:

  • positive thought through repetition rewires the mind to create new healthy habits of thinking
  • positive thought practiced to increase determination in yoga poses deepens the change
  • when you want to get out of the pose, the real yoga begins
  • in life, when you want to stop persevering, that is where the perseverance begins
  • changing the way you think, changes your neural patterns, ie. the way your brain cells re-wire
  • yoga nidra with an inner landscape practice can restore, reveal wisdom, bring great peace
  • being silent in natural settings removes anxiety, stress, and reconnects you to calm
  • our ecosystem is failing due to imbalances in keystone species
  • you can make a change in restoring our ecosystem to balance; watch The Green Channel to learn more - a "netflix" like platform for ecosystem films
  • for strong wellness and well being, consider a balance of types of activities in your day: the Ayurvedic approaches can inform as to activities that fire you up, settle you down, allow you to float, allow you to strengthen, and more
  • connecting with each other, in a real and non-fear based way, allows for a sense of belonging to humanity, and eases the sense that many have, that they do not belong somehow

More on this later . . .
